While we are well familiar with all the more common addicts and their addictions, how many of us knew there were also jewlrey addicts?

Drug addicts, alcohol addicts, gambling addicts and even sex addicts are heard about almost daily on the TV news, but jewlrey addicts?

These are people that don’t just frequent jewlrey stores, but they are troubled shoppers with a sickness that actually feel  compelled to buy more and more jewlrey on a weekly basis.  They have what is referred to as a jewlrey addiction.

The more jewlrey they buy, the more they want.  The jewlrey addict is never satisfied, she requires more and more jewlrey in a futile attempt to satisfy her desire for bigger diamonds and more dazzling jewlrey.

It’s unbelieveable, but it is totally true that jewlrey addicts feel a big emptiness if they don’t visit their local Kays Jewlrey or other local jewlrey stores on a weekly basis.

I mean they absolutely must be regularly visited and jewlrey must be purchased or the hapless jewlrey addict just goes bonkers.  They become familiar faces at their local jewlrey stores, the clerks all know them and they are aware of their compulsive jewlrey buying habits.

Jewlrey addiction is not fiction and it’s not fun, it is a real disorder that is extremely difficult to break, and it is also a  a very costly addiction.

While there are few men that succumb to jewlrey addiction, the ladies make up for it big time.  Jewlrey addicts run up their charge accounts causing untold damage to the family’s budget as well as to the stability of the family in general.

Husbands plead and bargain and even forbid their wives buy more jewlrey.  But, when the Kays Jewlrey bill arrives, he sees that his wife hasn’t stopped her endless jewlrey buying habits.

They can spend hundreds, thousands or some, if they are wealthy enough, can eventually even spend tens of thousands on diamonds and gold jewlrey like diamond rings, diamond earrings, tennis bracelets, and diamond necklaces.

These poor ladies indiscriminately purchase anything that has anything to do with jewlrey.  Yes, their addiction extents to jewlrey boxes and cases and even jewlrey safes.  Nothing about jewlrey escapes their seemingly unstoppable craving.

In addition to running up their charge accounts, they put gold and platinum chains and pendants, on layaway.  They special order gemstone jewlrey, designer jewlrey, and even costume jewlrey.

They custom design and order all kinds of jewlrey, but especially rings, and if they just can’t actually put the latest piece on a charge account, they will put it on hold.  They will do anything to make sure that the particular piece they are eying at the moment becomes theirs.

Wholesale jewlrey is also a prime target for the tortured and frantic addict.  Retail, wholesale, and online jewlrey stores all have their share of jewlrey addicts.  Some addicts are closet buyers, even their closest friends are unaware of thier bizarre jewlrey buying habits.

You would think that these compulsive jewlrey buyers would be a boon to jewlrey stores, but not so it seems. While their jewlrey buying sprees can add up to many thousands of dollars, they also tend to return their purchases much more frequently than the average buyer.

Returns in any business whether it be computers or jewlrey is just a royal pain in the behind. Businesses just do not like to deal with returns, especially on a regular basis from the same customer.

It gets to the point that the jewlrey stores would just as soon the jewlrey addicts stay home or get cured of their compulsive jewlrey buying sickness.

A jewlrey addiction is often a sign of a much larger problem, a sign of some huge lack in other important area of  the addict’s life.  As examples, women compulsively buy jewlrey to compensate for a marriage on the rocks, low self-esteem, a horrible job, a weight problem,  a middle aged crisis, or it could be just a simple desire to be the envy or their friends.

Whatever their original problem may have been, their problem drastically increases when their bank accounts are drained, their credit cards are maxed out, and the penalties and interest are going through the roof. Their lives become completely unstable and spiral totally out of control.

When they are busy feeding their addictions, jewlrey are unaware that a $1,000 ring, when you add in the all credit card charges, could eventually become a $2,500 albatross around their necks.  When they are buying, buying, buying, they are not thinking about the eventual negative destructive repercussions at all.

What can be done short of seeking psychiatric help?  The number one thing you, as a jewlrey addict, can do is to realize, that no matter how much jewlrey you add to your collection, you will always still want more, bigger, more stunning, more elaborate, just more, more, more.

The desire for more jewlrey can never be satisfied by buying more, so the compulsion to by more will always leave you wanting to buy more.

If you can realize that the craving for more and different pieces of jewlrey will go on and on until you are not only dead broke, but you’re also in debt up to your eyeballs, you may be able to start to put the brakes on your jewlrey buying sickness.

Just this good, long and realistic examination of your compulsive jewlrey spending habits may enable you to start rehabilitating yourself.

One thing that you can do immediately is to start taking back the jewlrey items you’ve purchased, return them to the jewlrey stores where you originally bought them.  If they won’t take them back, sell them.  Turn loose of them!

Do whatever you have to do to begin reducing the enormous debt you’ve accumulated because of your jewlrey addiction.  Start with the items that you no longer wear; this will make it easier for you to part with them, and it will also give you the first glimmer of hope that you can beat your jewlrey addiction.

You’ll find that deliberately turning loose of just one of your prized jewlrey items will help you turn loose of the next one.  You’ll soon see that you will have a sense of accomplishment and have more self esteem, and you’ll also experience more control over your life.

Know, that your happiness and peace of mind does not stem from having more jewlrey, it comes from knowing that you  are a terrific human being no matter who or where you are in your life.  Take joy in all the wonder in your life like your children, husband, boyfriend, home, pet and extended family.

Again, step one is to force yourself to turn loose of some of the jewlrey that you no longer wear.  This first step is huge, do it, and you’ll be well on the road to liberating yourself from inappropriate compulsive jewlrey shopping and spending.
